Reply to Linda Q. Thede Letter to the Editor on Standardized Nursing Language: What Does It Mean for Nursing Practice? by Marjorie Rutherford (January 31, 2008).

Dear Dr. Thede,

Thank you for the clarification of the information on how a standardized language is approved by the ANA. In my search of the ANA website I did not find information about the Committee for Nursing Practice Information Infrastructure that actually approves the terminologies. I do apologize for any confusion that the information in my article will communicate to the readers.

Marjorie A. Rutherford, RN, MA

Note from the Editor: The information on the CNPII had not yet been posted on NursingWorld when this manuscript was submitted to OJIN.
