Thank you for responding to our article and espousing the importance of our stance against lateral violence in nursing. The points you make are on target. It is crucial there be open communication among staff members and management to help prevent incidents of lateral violence. Positive involvement by management at an early stage can greatly limit damages from “bullying.”  The key to reducing lateral violence in the workplace is through team building, as studies have shown a reduction in LV among a strong team environment.
