Letter to the Editor

  • I am writing to you in regards to “Ethics: Ethical Issues with Medical Errors: Shaping a Culture of Safety in Healthcare” (Sorrell, 2017). The number of deaths caused by medical errors in the United States is outrageously high, and I believe there are many things we, as nurses, can do to change that.

Reply to Linda Q. Thede Letter to the Editor on Standardized Nursing Language: What Does It Mean for Nursing Practice? by Marjorie Rutherford (January 31, 2008).

Dear Dr. Thede,

Thank you for the clarification of the information on how a standardized language is approved by the ANA. In my search of the ANA website I did not find information about the Committee for Nursing Practice Information Infrastructure that actually approves the terminologies. I do apologize for any confusion that the information in my article will communicate to the readers.
